It’s been 20 years since the Bolshoi Theatre last performed at La Scala’s legendary stage in Milan. The long-awaited comeback is scheduled for July 13.
Two decades later, the Bolshoi is coming to La Scala with none other than “Eugene Onegin”, one of the most famous operas in the world by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
It has been brought together by trailblazing Russian stage director Dmitry Chernikov, who received a Franco Abbiati award for his performance of “The Gambler” at La Scala.
Chernikov’s “Eugene Onegin” has also won accolades from critics in Paris, Tokyo and Riga, and is soon expected to go on tour to the UK, China and Spain.
