Briggs-Ibragimov title fight rescheduled for June 2

Published: 13 March, 2007, 15:07

June 2 has been announced as the date for the rescheduled WBO Heavyweight title bout between champion Shannon Briggs and Russian challenger Sultan Ibragimov.

Last Saturday night was when the two men were initially to do battle at New York's Madison Square garden.

But Briggs cancelled the highly-anticipated match up after coming down with Pneumonia.

Ibragimov instead took on Mexico's Javier Mora in a hastily arranged fight, stopping the journeyman in the first-round.

So Briggs-Ibragimov fight will take place in Moscow.
