A British prankster has been mocking German police, making them look like muppets. An Audi with British number plates has been captured – on film – several times travelling over the speed limit in the state of Bavaria…with a Muppet S

After examining the snaps carefully, police discovered it was a right-hand drive vehicle with British registration plates and, since German speed cameras are set for left-hand drive cars, they’ve been unable to identify the driver.

Instead, they got images of a character from a TV comedy programme ‘The Muppet Show’. Suspect number one is a Muppet called ‘Animal’ – the crazy drummer from the Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem band.

The car is not listed in Germany, so police are powerless and can’t pursue the driver unless they grab him in a routine stop.

Recently cameras snapped the joker’s Audi travelling on the A9 autobahn near Bayreuth in northern Bavaria. In an attempt to find the British driver, Bavarian police have released the photo shot of his vehicle was doing 155km/h in a maximum 120km/h zone.
