Alexander Arngoldt’s autumn-winter collection is dedicated to revolution. It’s main lead is a girl named Octobrine, who is dreaming of Karl Marx and lives her life in a permanent struggle and search of her ideal.

So are the costumes – they are filled with the spirit of those times. The collection is full of drama and secret desires embodied in the texture and bows of the dresses. Almost puritan looks are decorated with either golden or red carnations.

“Each of my fashion shows is at the same time an art project, with a certain idea in it, with elements of show.”

Made in the modern context, the costumes still reflect to the end of the 19 century. Straight and pure silhouettes continue delicate waist-lines, bouffant jackets argue with narrow trousers.

Textures and fabrics are thoroughly picked and carefully balanced in the designer’s works. “In this collection we used only luxurious fabrics: wool, silk, cashmere,” Arngoldt says.

The main color of the revolution, desire and passion is of course red. “I made a fur coat of a phenomenally bright red color. We also have red dresses and apply bright red lipstick.”

Arngold’s identity is the use of golden color in each collection. “My last name end with gold, so I simply can’t live without gold! I always place a small golden disk on each of my dresses. I want people who will wear it to be warmed with it.”

In this latest collection one can see golden dresses, shoes and accessories. Other colors are also here: coral-red, black, and ultramarine and ivory.

Arndgold also took part in the Cossaks in the city show. He created 7 looks for this project dedicated to the jubilee of writer Nikolay Gogol. “It took me 40 minutes to create these looks, it was a chance to get aside from luxury,” Arngold says.
