Internationally renowned Russian pianist Denis Matsuev received a standing ovation at the opening of the Crescendo classical music festival in Paris. Russia's star musician brought the house down for his rendition of Tchaikovsky's first Piano Concerto, p
Matsuev might have performed Tchaikovsky's masterpiece hundreds of times, but it was the first time he did it for the demanding Parisian music lovers.
The French audience was more than grateful. They gave the Russian maestro and the orchestra a standing ovation after the show.
The Crescendo festival will run until the end of the year, when another Tchaikovsky work will bring it to an end. The famous “Nutcracker” ballet will be the close the festival on December 31.
