Chelsea have won their first trophy of the season. Jose Mourinho's men overcame Arsenal 2-1 in the Carling Cup Final at Cardiff's Millennium stadium with Ivorian Didier Drogba becoming the Man of the Match.
1-1 was the way it stood heading into the final 6 minutes. The youngest player on the pitch, 17-year-old Theo Walcott gave Arsenal the lead. But the irrepressible Didier Drogba slotted home 9 minutes later to claim his 27th goal of the season. And his 28th duly followed in the 84th minute, heading home after Arjen Robben had floated the cross into the box.It is Chelsea's second cup win in three years but a potentially serious neck injury to captain John Terry might shorten their celebrations.
