The head of a cab service recently found an old rouble note while looking through one of his books. This made him hit on the idea of collecting Soviet money and putting it to good use. His taxi-service is going to hold an internet auction and sell the notes there.

Lenin was always a great favourite with Soviet kids.

All money raised will go to a local orphanage.

It is hoped the proceeds from the auction will allow the children to attend a summer-camp, something they have never been able to do before.

Vladimir Lenin had no children of his own, but he was always a great favourite with Soviet kids. Although the money is being raised on the anniversary of Lenin’s birth, most of the children there have never even heard of him. Staff at the children's home say they no longer teach them ideology like in the old days.
