Atlant back on top of KHL

In the course of a series of games, Russia's Continental Hockey League teams have been testing their strength against each other.

Metallurg Magnitogorsk 4 – 3 CSKA

Metallurg Magnitogorsk were taken to the limit by fourth-placed CSKA in Monday's opening match. The men from Magnitogorsk fought back from two goals down to win in overtime against their main Tarasov division rivals.

Vityaz 3-1 Traktor

Elsewhere third from bottom Vityaz showed their resolve to see off Traktor.

Lokomotiv 3-2 Avangard

Championship contenders Lokomotiv got the better of Avangard after a tight encounter, also after overtime.

Spartak 0-3 Salavat Yulaev

Salavat Yulaev were too strong for Spartak. The Ufa side are level with Moscow region’s Atlant. Both are currently topping the league. Atlant though have one game in hand.  

Dynamo Moscow 0-2 Neftekhimik
Dynamo Riga 0-6 Lada

Both Dynamo sides lost at home. The Moscow side went down to Neftekhimik while their Riga counterparts were thrashed by Lada 6-0.
