The last 32 of the 2007 UEFA Cup season is underway. It has not been the best start for CSKA Moscow. They played out a goalless draw against Israel's Maccabi Haifa in Vladikavkaz.
As Russia's football season has yet to start, the CSKA players looked fresher and were more pushing in the first half-time of the match. Nevertheless, the Israel’s team took over the initiative quite soon, which could have been resulted from CSKA’s lack of regular playing practice. Nevertheless, CSKA also made efforts to score a goal, but the Israel’s goalkeeper was there. Meanwhile, the guest team not only protected their goal but also performed a couple of nice counter-attacks.As a result, there has turned out to be not so boring draw, which still leaves CSKA a reasonable chance of qualifying for the next round of the UEFA Cup.Moreover, CSKA are still among the favourites to lift the trophy along with Seville of Spain and England's Tottenham.
