Cycling chiefs plan Tour de Russia

Russian cycling chiefs are considering staging a race to rival the annual Tour de France. The president of the country’s cycling federation is ambitiously aiming for 2009.
Most road cyclists dream of participating in events such as the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a'Espana.
The president of the Russian cycling federation wants to put Russia on the pro tour map.
Pro tour manager, the financial and technical directors of the International Cycling Union will be visiting Russia in the next couple of weeks. Their goal is to evaluate the condition of our roads and accommodation for the cyclists.
