Several days before Madonna’s only concert in Russia, St. Pete’s communists have urged the diva be respectful while performing in the historical Palace Square – and asked her to avoid pole dancing.

In a message, posted on their official website, the communists emphasized that “No one can shake their backside here, be frivolously dressed, or dance on a pole… It is obligatory to dress modestly, to sing in a melodious voice and to remember their morals.”

Also, communists came up with several ideas on how the singer should be dressed. They offered Madonna to upgrade her costumes with a sailor hat with a red ribbon, middy blouse, a Mauser and “of course a red flag of labor.”

Continuing, the message said, “Palace Square is not only the historical centre of the most beautiful city in the world – it is the place where the Great October socialist revolution, the Winter Palace storm, and the arrest of the damned Provisional Government by soldiers and sailors of the revolution took place.”

In this connection, the communists suggested Madonna sing something “revolutionary, in honor of the participants of the storming of the Winter Palace.” Besides the “Internationale” and “Marseillaise,” the communists suggested several Russian revolutionary songs.

Having mentioned the singer’s talent and her “sympathy towards African children,” the communists, at the same time, called for “understanding the responsibility of performing pop hits in such a significant place”.

Moreover, the communists were offended with Madonna’s decision to bring her own cook with her.

“The Russian cuisine is a hundred of times better than the English, with their viscous porridge and luscious puddings. Try our pancakes, Russian cabbage soup and fresh milk and you will understand how much you’re missing in life.”

Finally, the communists promised to come to Madonna’s concert if she listens to their recommendations; also if, of course, “party dues suffice”.

Madonna’s only concert in Russia will take place on August 2 on Palace Square in St. Petersburg as part of her “Sticky and Sweet” tour.

These women that sit around with their legs spread like this are an embarrassment to a lot of people who find this revolting. If she were my mother I would be embarrassment, I am now.

"The Russian cuisine is a hundred of times better than the English, with their viscous porridge and luscious puddings." Although she lives in England, surely everyone knows that Madonna is American of Italian ancestory. Also, porridge is not English - it is a Scottish dish. If the communists want to become food critics, perhaps they need to expand their knowledge of this area. Still, I doubt that Madonna cares what the Communists think and, if she stays true to form, will probably offend several local customs/sensibilities. As her current tour has grossed over 400 million US$, I really doubt that she cares.
