He wears black suits, looks like James Bond and drives the girls crazy. It sounds like the stuff of male fantasy, but it perfectly describes Roland Mouret, a popular British designer who has unveiled his latest collection of evening dresses in Moscow.
Mouret's career in fashion took off several years ago when he caught the attention of Hollywood stars and showbiz celebrities.
The French-born, London-based designer made headlines in 2005 when his dresses became so popular they sold out in 30 minutes at the best boutiques around the world.
Now Roland Mouret's creations can be found at the TSUM store in Moscow.
His trademark mixture of elegance and sexuality has earned him an impressive celebrity client list, including Scarlet Johansson and Victoria Beckham.
“It’s all the time about woman, what they have, what they don’t, pushing the boundaries,” Mouret says.
He creates evening gowns for red-carpet events as well as casual outfits for every-day life.
While some women choose his creations for glamorous soirees, others favour them for business meetings – to produce the right impression.
Mouret's fans in Moscow say his dresses not only look flattering, they are flattering.
“It's an easy thing to put on, you look elegant, modern in a very easy and quick way,” says Elena, a Moscow fashionmonger.
Several hundred Mouret fans showed up at his show in Moscow, making it clear that the designer has become one of the coolest names in modern fashion.
