Early opening for artists’ anniversary

Published: 22 August, 2006, 09:59

The artists’ union in Moscow marks its 75th anniversary next year. Certain exhibitions dedicated to the event have already opened – among them, images of underwater creatures and paintings inspired by ancient Greek statues with a culinary touch

Still others focus on scientific issues such as “the biological effect of solar activity.”

Ancient Rome reckoned citizens would be satisfied with bread and circuses. Planners of this exhibition hope fish and circuses do the same for their visitors.
