A monument to the fictional characters of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson will be set up in front of the British embassy in Moscow. The composition will allow visitors to join the two figures for photography.

The sculptor Andrey Orlov was inspired by the work of Sydney Paget, who was the first artist to illustrate Conan Doyle's world famous detective stories.

The bronze statues will also resemble actors Vasily Livanov and Vitaly Solomin, who played the leading roles in the popular Russian screen version of the book.
