Russian national team has suffered their first defeat at the European Basketball championships, as they were beaten by hosts and defending World Champions, Spain.

The final score was 81 – 69. But the match was not crucial for Russia, because David Blatt’s team are already through to the playoffs.

Andrei Kirilenko was the top-scorer again – with a game high 21 points.

The victory gave Spain a pass to the last eight as well.
