Three floors, stage-transformers and a 26 meter long bar– this is EuroClub located next to the Kremlin. EuroClub will be home for all parties, concerts, and official ceremonies of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.

Housed in one of Moscow’s historic buildings, the Manezh exhibition centre, the official name of the venue is Eurodom, meaning “Eurohome” in Russian.

The opening ceremony proved the venue will become a place for meeting among the contestants, devoted fans, organizers and international delegations. Hundreds of people gathered there to enjoy live music from previous Eurovision stars, order drinks at the longest-ever bar and mingle with an international crowd.

The “Eurovision Stars In Moscow” concert will also take place at Eurodom on May 10. This performance will gather winners and legendary participants of the Eurovision Song Contests from previous years, including Ukrainian Ruslana (2004 winner), Serbian Marija Šerifović (2007 winner) and Russian Dima Bilan (2008 winner). Lys Assia, the famed winner of the very first Eurovision Song Contest from Switzerland, will open this show with the song which brought her victory back in 1956.

Capabilities of the venue

Semi-finals on May 12 and 14 and the final show on May 16, to be held in the Olympisky Arena, will be broadcast live at Eurodom for the first time in Eurovision history.

Eurodom is made up of two halls: the white one for press-conferences and official meetings and the dark blue one for parties and concerts. The opening and closing ceremonies will also be held here. Every day, the night life venue of the Song Contest is expected to host over 1500 people

Each hall is equipped with impressive special light-emitting diode systems which allow for changing illumination and broadcast videos projected on screens. The scene can be easily transformed according to the format of the performance.

“About three hundred diode panels installed in the scenery creates a special atmosphere. We sought to create a worthy European club that would make visitors feel at home,” according to Konstantin Gerasimov, technical director of the Eurodom project.

Semi-finals on May 12 and 14, and the final show on May 16 to be held in Olympisky Arena, will be broadcast live at Eurodom for the first time in Eurovision history.

Alexander Barannikov, Executive Secretary of the Eurovision Committee under the Government, says “this time, unlike last year, we [Russia] don’t feel such pressure to win. Our task now is to make sure that all of our guests feel happy here and would want to come back to Russia again and again. We will try to show that Russia is part of the European family.”
