Republican vice-president candidate Sarah Palin has become victim of a telephone prank. Canadian comedian Marc-Antoine Audette called her claiming to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The fake Sarkozy and Palin discussed a number of important issues, including hunting, the republican campaign and the president’s wife, ex-model Carla Bruni.
The comedian gave Palin a number of hints to help her understand that she was not taking to a real Sarkozy, but she missed all of them.
He said he is following the race for the White House with the help of his advisor in the U.S., Johnny Hallyday, which is the name of a popular French singer.
He also mispronounced the name of the Canadian Prime Minister, calling him Stef Carse (another singer) instead of Stephen Harper.
Palin found nothing strange in these utterances nor in the statement that Carla Bruni has written a song for her entitled ‘Du rouge a levres sur une cochonne’ which is French for ‘A pig using lipstick’.
But she got really exited when the fake Sarkozy confessed he was a great fan of moose hunting. Sarah Palin said they could hunt together after official meetings.
Audette also informed Palin that he liked the documentary called ‘Nailin' Paylin’, which is really a porn film featuring Palin’s look-alike.
According to the transcript of the interview, Sara Palin’s reply was: “Oh, good, thank you, yes”
In conclusion, the comedian said he’s sure that Palin would make a great president if something happened to John McCain.
The conversation lasted for six minutes before Audette told Palin she had been the victim of a spoof.
The interview will be aired before the U.S. election on November 4.
Palin’s press service issued a statement, which admitted that the vice-president candidate was tricked. It also said their boss was “mildly amused to learn that she had joined the ranks of heads of state, including President Sarkozy, and other celebrities in being targeted by these pranksters.”
Audette and his friend Sebastien Trudel make up a comedy duo known as the ‘Masked vengers’, who are extremely popular in Canada. Their other victims have been Queen Elizabeth II, Donald Trump, Mick Jagger and Nicolas Sarkozy himself.
