Family Day celebrated in Russia

Russia is celebrating the Day of the Family, Love and Faithfulness for the first time. The aim is to strengthen family ties, promote moral values and preach the worth of marriage.
The holiday dates back to a traditional Russian one, originating in the ancient city of Murom, which is 300 km east of Moscow.
It is based on the legend of Murom Prince, Peter, and his lover, Fevronia, who died in the same hour of the same day 780 years ago. They asked to be buried together. But the church didn't allow this, as Peter was a Prince and Fevronia was of lower class. But later they were found together in the same grave, reunited.
