“The New Drama” festival has opened in Moscow's Praktika theatre. It features first readings of plays, created by playwrights from various countries.

Among the highlights of the festival is a play titled “Farewell Manchuria!” by a young playwright from the Urals district of Russia. His work is about the life of servicemen on the Russian border with China.

Other works, performed at the festival, include plays by contemporary Canadian and Latvian writers. And a work by Suzan Lori-Parks from the United States «365 Days, 365 Plays» has already been staged at more than 700 theatres around the world, and now it has finally come to Russia.
