The UEFA experts responsible for determining the best players in each match has named its Euro 2008 Team of Tournament on its website. Four Russian footballers have been included in the 23-man squad.

They are as follows:
Yury Zhirkov (Defender)
Konstantin Zyryanov (Midfielder)
Andrey Arshavin (Forward)
Roman Pavlyuchenko (Forward)

Of the final list of 23, no fewer than 9 are Spaniards.

“This team is very much self-contained in terms of the tournament. This is not about reputations. In fact, there are only four players included who were in our UEFA Champions League team of the competition. It's all very much about the performances in this competition. We haven't included anybody who was knocked out in the group phase,” said UEFA Technical Director Andy Roxburgh of the Euro 2008 final squad.
