Freestyle skiiing World Cup comes to Moscow

A leg of a freestyle skiing World Cup has been held in Moscow for the first time on the biggest ever ramp, but there was to be no sweet homecoming for the Russian contingent.
The honours instead went back across the Atlantic with Canada’s Steve Omischle and Emily Cook from the U.S. victorious in the hotly contested aerials discipline.
Thousands of spectators were not disappointed by the dozens of ski stars.
The favourite for the ladies’ event, Australia's Jacqui Cooper, failed to land clearly and Emily Cook from the USA won the ladies’ event.
The top ranked Russian Vladimir Lebedev who took bronze at the 2006 winter Olympics and silver at the previous leg did his best on the home course, though finished fourth in the final standings.
While Canada’s Steve Omischle was nearly flawless in both of his jumps – winning the Moscow event and the World Cup as well.

Muscovites join bondage 'craze'Some may consider it perverse; others say it's a sophisticated and beautiful art. But judging by the popularity of Moscow's second annual Bondage Fest, there are plenty of fans. |
Boxing - Russia vs USAWhen you hear the words Russia, United States and boxing in the same sentence it's usually a hot topic. The Russian city of Novosibirsk has hosted the first amateur meet of Russian and American boxers in almost twenty years. |
