Police in Germany have arrested a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of killing three of her babies and storing their bodies in a freezer.

The woman’s grown-up children came across the frozen corpses while looking for a pizza at the weekend.

It's unknown how long they've been there. But a newspaper from 1988 was found with the bodies, indicating they may have been in the freezer for 20 years.

Autopsies to establish the cause of death will be carried out as soon as the bodies are thawed.

The woman, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, is married and has two sons, aged 18 and 22, and a 24-year-old daughter.
