Mel Gibson has become a father for the eighth time as his Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to a baby girl on Friday.
The child was born few weeks earlier than expected, but both mother and baby are in good health and at home, celebrity source RadarOnline.com reported.
The Australian actor announced his girlfriend Oksana Grigirieva’s pregnancy in May: “I’m octo-Mel,” the 53-year-old Braveheart star said on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The newborn daughter is the eighth child for Gibson, and the first not from Robyn – his wife of 28 years. Oksana Grigorieva has one child from her past marriage to Hollywood actor Timothy Dalton.
Mel and Robyn Gibson are currently in the process of a divorce. Robyn filed the divorce in April 2009, shortly after Mel and Oksana’s private photos leaked into the press. The actor, however, persisted that Oksana has nothing to do with the split for which he cited “irreconcilable differences”.
