“Islamour” comes to Russia

The “Golden Minbar” international film festival, highlighting Muslim cinema, kicks off in the Tatar capital, Kazan, on September 30.
Up to 400 productions from 67 countries will be screened at the 5th edition of the festival whose motto is “Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue!”
Films from counties as different as Russia, Germany, America, Israel, Iran, Turkey and Lebanon, as well as Congo, Sudan, Sri Lanka and Nigeria, will compete against each other for awards and recognition.
12 feature films will be vying for the festival’s top honors. Among the highlights of the official competition are Ridley Scott’s drama “Body of Lies”, starring Leonardo Di Caprio; “Super Star”, by cutting-edge Iranian female director Tahmineh Milani; as well as a Moroccan production, “Islamour”.
