Golf: Russian Open dates announced

The dates for this year's Russian Open golf tournament have been set. The tournament will be held from July 24 to 27. The European Tour event will tee off directly after the British Open, the third major of the season.
The Moscow Country Club in Nakhabino, a little outside Moscow, will again host the $US 2-million competition, which has gone from strength to strength since it began 12 years ago.
A whole host of established names are again expected to take part, including 2006 winner Alejandro Canizares.
There will also be an opportunity for former stars of the world game to get their putters out, with the Russian Senior Open getting its start this year.
Former Ryder Cup winning captain Sam Torrance has already signed up for the $US 750,000 event.
