Philip Treacy, Britain's king of hats, has teamed up with designer Irina Vityaz, Russia’s princess of evening dresses, to present a joint show in Moscow.
Philip Treacy took his first steps in fashion when he was just five years old. He was into making dresses for his sister's dolls, but didn’t expect his hobby to put him on the path to high fashion. It took Treacy quite a while to realize that his gift was for hats rather than general outfits.
Fashion lovers agree that the only hats worth wearing are the ones made by Treacy.
One of Russia's most stylish actresses, Renata Litvinova, says she has been in love with Treacy's hats for years.
“Philip Treacy is the inheritor of the most beautiful traditions of Dior and Chanel. He's a great student of the great masters,” the actress said.
“Irina Vityaz” is the brand name used by designer Elvira Karagapoltseva. Treacy considers the Russian dressmaker to be his soul mate. Elvira is a renowned master of eveningwear.
