The annual two-day rock festival Krylia, or “wings” in English, has come to an end. The open-air venue usually features performances by dozens of bands of various genres.
That is why thousands of people who like different styles of music gather at Tushino Airdrome to dance their troubles away on a sunny summer weekend.
The festival usually starts with performances of new groups, each has about 30 minutes to play. The genres vary from so called street beat and emo to heavy metal and rock'n'roll.
The concert starts around noon and lasts almost until midnight. This year festival organisers also invited alternative musicians from England, France and the U.S. The headliner of this year's festival was Australian pop singer, Natalie Imbruglia.
Russian surfers catch the windIt does not matter if the sun shines or the sky is blue. For dedicated windsurfers it is only the wind and waves that matter. For years Russian surfers have gathered near Saint Petersburg on the shores of the Gulf of Finland. |
