A farm 200 kilometres from Moscow has brought ancient Italian cheesemaking traditions to Russia, and now people from all over the world have become admirers of Pietro Mazzo's cheese.
Ten years ago Pietro Mazza together with his Russian wife established their farm at Mednoye village as the first agricultural tourist destination in Russia.
Now they run a very successful business which attracts people from all over the world. Pietro says he's happy he decided to start his own cheese business there.
“When I came here for the first time and looked around, I understood that this idea was totally unknown here. That is why I decided to stay and work here and time has proved that I was right,” Pietro Mazza said.
Pietro Mazza is from Italy's Calabria region, famous for its ancient cheesemaking traditions. His ancestors produced cheese for around 400 years.
Buratta, mozzarella, ricotta – almost every kind of cheese is accompanied by Italian wine.
“I have tasted plenty of different delicious things in my life. But this taste is exceptional. I can't even find words to describe it,” said Tatyana Boikova, a tourist.
And the pioneer of Russia's burgeoning agri-tourism industry now even plans to open his second farm in the Moscow region.
