Seven films of various genres showing off modern Middle Eastern culture will be screened at the festival in Moscow till June 17. One of the highlights is Paul Schrader’s drama “Adam Resurrected” starring Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe, and “Jellyfish” which won the Golden Camera award at the Cannes festival.
The festival was launched in America 28 years ago, which at the time could only show half a dozen movies. Since then it has become the largest showcase for Israeli films in the United States. It runs for a fortnight in the USA, screening over 30 films.

One in a million: German boy hit by meteoriteThe chances of being hit by a passing meteorite are tremendously small, but that’s exactly what has happened to a German schoolboy. The pea-sized space-traveling object hit the boy’s hand leaving a scar. |
Dear Astraea, 'Waltz With Bashir' is a brilliant animation about the after-effects on Israeli soldiers of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Clearly, Israel does exist as do its several million citizens. One fifth of Israel's citizens are non-Jewish. Israel is the only country on God's planet with a Jewish majority. You mention Stalin's gift to the Jewish people. Are you being ironical? No-one wants to live in Birobidjan. Still, it's good to hear that Stalin's mass murders and antisemitic campaigns were not illegal in Russia. That must make you proud. In fact, Israel was established legally by the United Nations. In 1948, Russia was one of the countries which voted for its establishment. Good luck with your studies of the Middle East!
Those involved in production and showing of these movies through parts of of the World,it serves to justify and glorify the Crimes and Sadism, that is practiced on the daily bases, by the so called israelis, against a People of no fault of their own, continue being subjected to the most INHUMAN CRUEL AND BARBARIC Treatment,by BRUTES devoided of any Conscience. I hope a day will come when this BARBARIC people must leave into where they come from, but never allowed the opportunity to once again, commit such BRUTAL CRIMES against anyone else.

Dear Manuel, What do you mean by 'so-called Israelis'? Do you think Israelis do not exist? Or are you merely expressing a genocidal wish that Israelis should not exist? Do you call Israelis BRUTES because you like uppercase letters? Or are you singling out Israelis for your irrational anger? By the way, I thought these comments were meant to relate to film and art. Are not film and art universal, aimed at bringing people together in mutual understanding? Maybe you should watch some Israeli movies to understand that the people you so despise are human too? Try to EMPATHISE and UNDERSTAND instead of indulging in HYSTERICAL DEHUMANISATION!
