Published: 29 December, 2006, 15:50

The men's Downhill World Cup has ended in Italy, with Michael Walchhofer claiming his second downhill race in as many days. The defending champion, eased to victory with a quarter of a second to spare, over his rival, Peter Fill.

Walchhofer's team-mate Mario Scheiber was third for the second successive day, pushing Bode Miller off the podium.

Meanwhile, defending Olympic Champion, Antoine Deneriaz, who's enduring a wretched season so far, is out for the next three weeks with a knee injury, which he picked up before today's race.
