Mickey Mouse: Satan’s soldier or kids' cartoon?

Mickey Mouse has to die, according to an influential Muslim cleric from Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Muhammad Munajid says the cartoon character is corrupting Arab kids and is ‘one of Satan’s soldiers’, reports Britain’s Daily Telegraph.
During a religious programme on an Arab TV channel, Munajid said a mouse is considered an impure creature under Islamic Sharia law, which taints everything it touches.
“If a mouse falls into a pot of food – if the food is solid, you should chuck out the mouse and the food that came into contact with it. And if it is liquid – you should throw out the whole lot, because the mouse is impure,” he told viewers.
According to Munajid, who was once a Saudi diplomat in the US, Sharia law demands that a mouse be killed in all cases, whether the mouse in question is real or just an image.
He disapproves of Disney’s famous cartoon mouse, saying it inspires affection it doesn't deserve.
It’s not the first and probably won’t be the last time an Islamic cleric has expressed his disapproval of Western popular culture.
Another senior Saudi cleric, Sheikh Saleh al-Fozan, has called for the death sentence for presenters of astrology programmes on TV, according the Reuters news agency.

If Muslim clerics are so upset about something from western culture impacting on their people and culture then there is an easy solution: do not partake of said upsetting thing. If the TV is evil then don't own a TV, if books are evil then don't read them etc etc etc. Those same Muslim clerics, however, need to realize that the rest of the world do not follow their teachings, and thus do not fall under their system of laws and punishments. They have no right to call for the death penalty for presenters of astronomy shows, as those presenters are more than likely not followers of the Muslim way. A man should control what goes on in his own home but no man has authority over another man's home!
Im a muslim, so whats wrong with mouse?! i love that smart helpful joyful loving character called mikey mouse, God have created animals and insect to teach us something indeed, read the surah of "ants" in quraan , read about spider and bees and the crow that have teached the son of Adam how to burry the body of his brother. although mickey mouse is just a cartoon character, unless it plays a role in violence or sexual action, in this case only we have to kill it :)
theyre not christians so who cares what they think anyhow theyre goin to hell. I dont ask a burger pattie its opinions before i chuck it on the grill lol !
