20-year-old Ksenia Sukhinova, from Siberia, has been crowned Miss Russia in an elaborate ceremony in Moscow. Fifty girls from around Russia took part in the showcase of glitz and glamour.

Beauty and philanthropy were out in full effect as the beauties vied for the chance to represent Russia at next year's Miss World and Miss Universe competitions.

Current Miss World, Zi-Lin Zhang, was on hand to offer words of encouragement.

RT correspondent, the enviable Paul Byrne, made an appearance of his own at the show and tried to pick a winner after the tortuous swim suit section.
