Moscow loses Youth Olympics 2010 bid to Singapore

Singapore will be the host city for the Youth Olympic Games in 2010. IOC members, who voted by mail, preferred it to Moscow, the Asian city’s only rival in the running.
The Youth Olympics, which will be held for the first time, are designed to spark enthusiasm for the games among the world's teenagers.
Around 3,000 teenage athletes will compete in 26 sports.
The judges, referees and officials for the summer Youth Games will also be young people.
