Thousands of graduating schoolchildren will whoop it up after receiving their diploma late at night on Tuesday.

Around 50,000 young graduates will celebrate the end of the best days of their life all night long. The festivities will start at about 22:00 in schools all over the capital.

After the official party some 600 buses will take the graduates to clubs, banquet rooms, and entertainment centers, or to the different Moscow sights. This year ex-pupils will visit the Red Square, the Sparrow Hills, and the Luzhniki sports complex.

Other students wishing for something less traditional will spend the night riding around the metropolis on limousines and steamboats.

In order to control the ecstatic youngsters more than 4,000 policemen will be providing security in the city on Tuesday night. They have been asked to be tolerant of any inebriated newly-grads. The police have even promised to deliver the tipsy kids home if necessary.

For those who manage to finish school with distinction, and this year there are at least 4,000 such young men and ladies, a special ball has been arranged on Friday in Gostiny Dvor. The ball will traditionally start with a dance and at the end the honors-students will be able to enjoy a disco.

All the festivities are expected to finish at about 06:00 tomorrow.
