Moscow Spartak defender named best player of the season

FC Spartak Moscow defender Roman Shishkin has been named as the “Best young player of the season”. This award voted for by 100 football commentators is the first one in the career of a young player.
The 19-year-old defender helped his team finish the second place in the Russian Premier league this year. Moreover, in the ranks of FC Spartak Moscow Shishkin gained valuable Champions League experience.To crown it all, the young and promising player was picked by the coach of the Russian national football team, Guus Hiddink for the European qualifier against Macedonia in October.“I am happy to get such recognition at the age of 19, and the next season I’ll have to prove that I do deserve it. My performance last season was due to hard work,” said Roman Shishkin, getting the award.
