The event brought together expats from all over the world as well as the Russian business elite.
“We can say that aim of the International Women's Club is to be a gathering point for the female expats community in Moscow. And also, because we are here and we are in our host country, we want to give something back to all things we receive from our host country, and therefore we also focus on charity projects,” Rita Janssen, Honorary Chair of the IWC, said.
The fact that the ball was held in the newly restored Palace of Catherine the Great, certainly added some glitz.
Having put on such a spectacular affair, the organisers didn't pocket any of the proceeds. “All of us work for nothing. We are not paid and we don't want to be paid. We are grateful with your country that receives us very well,” Nubia Pirone, Co-President of the Club, said.
