New doping scandal ran after Russian walkers

Five Russian walkers have been given two-year bans for doping offences – including the World Record holder Sergey Morozov.

Holding the world record for the 20km walk Morozov was suspended after testing positive for the endurance-enhancing hormone EPO.

Russia's Sports Federation also suspended four other athletes.

Viktor Burayev, Igor Yerokhin, Vladimir Kanaikin and Olympic bronze medalist Alexei Voyevodin also banned for two years along with.

All five are said to have tested positive prior to the Beijing games.

But Kanaikin is insisting he's innocent and will appeal. His fellows and him intend to compete at the next Olympics in London.

This July Seven Russian women were provisionally suspended by the IAAF for allegedly manipulating urine samples.
