A group of Russian divers are preparing an underwater Happy New Year party. Instead of dressing up and going to a party, they will plunge into the world's deepest lake to dance with the fishes.

One of divers is going to hold the New Year tree – he gets to wear the heaviest outfit weighing almost 100 kilos – while others will dance around him.

Father Frost and Ice Maiden will also lead the celebrations 40 metres underwater in Baikal, the deepest lake on the planet.

The tradition began on New Year's Eve in 1982, when a group of six divers plunged into Baikal's waters. This time, there'll bee 23 of them.

The divers joke about it, but this is going to be a serious plunge, with only professionals allowed to take part.
