“What am I going to wear next spring?” That’s the big money question bugging every other girl across the world. Russian designer Yulia Nikolaeva shared her ideas with all those curious to know at Russian Fashion Week.
Nikolaeva’s formula for success features lots of checkered outfits, rich colors and eye-catching accessories.
A cup of coffee in one hand, a business report in the other, and two movie tickets in a large casual bag? That’s a typical Moscow city girl, wearing an outfit from Yulia Nikolaeva.
It looks like the buzz, the vibe and the geometry of the city have shaped Nikolaeva’s latest collection. She’s creative and thoughtful, and is not a slave to fashion. While some designers enjoy their status of dictators, Nikolaeva only makes suggestions on what to wear or not.
She’s chosen silk and linen for next spring and showy oversized sunglasses to welcome summer.
But Nikolaeva’s total look would not be harmonious without charming black-and-white beads.
The award-winning Russian designer uses every opportunity to show her unconventional attitude to style.
