Photo exhibition opens in Moscow as part of Second Moscow Biennale

Published: 26 February, 2007, 15:47

A photo exhibition entitled “The caramel in the botanical garden” has opened in Moscow as part of the Second Moscow Biennale. It showcases works by the Russian artist, Vadim Zakharov, which he made whilst on holiday in Crimea.

Vadim Zakharov is traditionally a painter and it has been the first time he's exhibited works as a photographer.

He says he had no intention of displaying them, but his friends talked him into arranging the exhibition.

Mr Zakharov left Russia in the 1980s to work abroad, only returning when the Soviet Union collapsed.
