The Russian cleared 5.03 metres in Friday's golden league meeting in Rome – two centimetres more than her previous record, which she set three years ago.
Afterwards she said she'd changed her technique, coach, and personal life, claiming she was now stronger then ever.
Isinbaeva will compete in Stockholm, London and Monaco before defending her Olympic crown in China next month.
