A park in a Moscow region town has turned into Pumpkinland as residents are marking a very special festival.

Organizers say the pumpkin weekend is being celebrated in preparation for Halloween.

Visitors can take part in competitions and try traditional pumpkin dishes.

More than thirty tons of vegetables have been delivered to the festival from nearby farms.

Local babushkas, however, seized several pumpkins, mistakenly thinking they had been thrown away.
