An 18-month-old girl has survived been run over by a cargo train in Siberia. The child crawled onto the tracks after getting out of her home unnoticed. She was barely scratched in the incident,
According to local officials, the toddler’s mother put her to bed, but didn’t notice that her daughter had escaped from the house – located just 50 metres from the railway track.
When the engine driver noticed the child on the rail, he started beeping. He applied the emergency brake but the heavy train didn’t manage to stop in time and the girl appeared to have been run over.
When the train finally came to a halt, the engine driver took the child out. The girl was howling but remained unharmed, with just one scratch.
She was taken to a local hospital suffering from shock, but was released next day.
Her parents have been fined.
