Roman Pavlyuchenko has signed for Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League. The London football club are reported to have paid about $US 26 million for the 26-year-old, making him the most expensive Russian football player ever.
“My impressions of the club are excellent,” Pavlyuchenko commented. “People already recognise me on the streets and ask for autographs.”
British pundits believe Pavlyuchenko will strengthen the Tottenham's attack as the club was in need of a top-class striker after selling Robbie Keane to Liverpool.
Pavlyuchenko, who joined Spartak Moscow in 2003, scored 77 goals in 143 matches for the club.
