Big business dynasties in Russia might disappear – research

The research, conducted jointly by the UBS and the Campden Research company, suggests that Russian tycoons would rather sell their business than hand it down to their children.
Investigators have looked at 25 entrepreneurs and businessmen in Russia, the majority of them having personal and family fortunes over $500 million.
The trend makes Russia different from the USA and Europe, where entrepreneurs tend to build their business to hand it down to their children.
The research also indicates that less than a half of the businessmen thought the current businessman environment in Russia was conducive to entrepreneurial skill and innovation, which might be a disappointing finding for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who earlier this year said he wanted to increase innovation in Russian business.
