Russian club on track for Euroleague basketball final

Russian basketball club CSKA remains on course to make the final of the Euroleague for the third straight year following a 32 point rout of Polish outfit, Prokom – their fifth win in a row on the continent.
It leaves the Moscow men with a runaway lead at the top of Group.
David Andersen sparked an 8-zero run late in the second quarter with back-to-back dunks – Prokom finding it hard to deal with the rangy Australian all night.
He top-scored for the red and blue with 17 points, but it was all in all a team effort for Ettore Messina's men, with six players finishing in double figures.
The final quarter was a mere formality, with CSKA falling just a point shy of breaking the century mark, 99-67 the final score.
CSKA mastermind defects to ItalyInter Milan have signed midfielder Daniel Carvalho, who helped CSKA to the 2005 UEFA Cup title. The Italian champions plan to send the Brazilian on loan to low-key Serie A sides. |
