Russian Fashion Week has entered its first few days in Moscow. It's the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe and on the post-Soviet space featuring more than 50 designers.
The biggest shows are taking place in Moscow’s World Trade Center.
Organisers are fighting hard to match fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, London and New York.
Russia’s fashion industry is increasingly big business.
Designer Max Chernitsov complains that management remains the main problem.
“If you have a good manager, he'll be able to bring in the money, to start mass production and to organise sales. A lot of designers in our country try to do everything themselves, and that's why the results sometimes leave much to be desired. It's good when you have a strong team, where each person is responsible for his own part,” he said.
Moscow goes psycho for psychicsWhether they offer a glimpse into the future or a promise to fix your problems, it’s clear many Russians are falling in love with psychics. Their popularity has soared thanks to television. |
