Russian musicians conquer the music Olympus

A thirteen-year-old prodigy flautist from St. Petersburg will be flying the flag for Russia at a Carnegie Hall concert in New York. The performance features participants in The Musical Olympus International Festival.
The festival was set up in St. Petersburg in 1996 and since then has served as a springboard for up-and-coming young musicians from all over the world. Pianists, vocalists, composers and conductors take part in it. They perform at some of the world’s most prestigious venues with renowned orchestras.
In recent years, the Musical Olympus International Festival has discovered more than 300 musicians from 38 countries.
Among the members of the Honorary Committee of the festival are Claudio Abbado, Montserrat Caballe, Valery Gergiev, Daniel Barenboim, Placido Domingo, Zubin Mehta, and many others.
Young musicians from Armenia, America, Korea and Poland will take part in the Carnegie Hall performance on March 22.
