Engineers from the Russian city of Magnitogorsk say they have been building humanoid robots, which will match their equivalents from South Korea and Japan.
The android designers say while some of their robot parts are made in Korea their models are way cheaper and no worse than their eastern equivalents.
At this stage, androids are no more than a scientific experiment, but in the future Russian designers hope to make a new generation of robots.
They will be human sized and be able to carry out manual work.
