Russia's oldest Symphony Orchestra on tour in Europe

The St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra – Russia's oldest – is beginning a tour of Europe. The orchestra will give fourteen concerts across the continent. They will perform works by Prokofiev along with Tchaikovsky's “Swan Lake&rd
The Orchestra was first formed in 1882, and started giving public performances in 1900.It was known as the “Imperial Music Choir” and played privately for the court of the Russian Czar, Alexander III.
